Read more about: Labour Party

Labour must be one of the biggest chicken shits in the world. They try to come across as a party of vision (or what ever buzzword they are flogging now) but in actual fact they are timid old church mice who just want everyone to like them and not take a stand on anything. Take their decision on legalisation of cannabis.

A contentious vote on decriminalising cannabis was avoided at the Labour Party conference when delegates voted to refer the subject back to the National Executive for further consideration.

And one of the reasons not to support it.

Fintan Gibney of Dublin Central said if the conference passed the motion, Fianna Fáil would be rubbing their hands with glee saying Labour was in favour of drugs.

Is this a party of vision, of determination? No this is a party too chicken to actually stand for anything, be willing to put their necks on the line if they believe something and not be scared of being made fun of. so I guess we will hear today that Labour want to give everyone free lollipops, a policy that no one can disagree with (who does not like lollipop) is just the kind of thing Labour support.

Aren’t you being a little unkind to them? What other party would put its head over the parapet on this issue, which is hardly close to Middle Ireland. And all other parties duck such issues. I don’t see Labour as much better or much worse than them…

many people have considered it wrong that Labour concided the economy to Fianna Fail in the election for pretty much the same reason. Why is this any different. They are a party not will to take stands that they agree with but are afraid that they will lose to Fianna Fail on issues.

This reminds of the PD’s decision to defer the Civil Unions Bill before the last election. Principles always come second to electioneering with these folks.

It’s almost enough to make a man cynical about politics!
