“Streaking is not a laughing matter,” says Crowe. Oh yes it is!

The first thing I did when I saw this headline in the Fianna Fail press releases—Streaking is not a laughing matter: Crowe—was laugh.

    Not to seem like a kill-joy but I have to sorta-kinda agree here;
    I was at the Leinster final a few months back when at half time a young fella decided to streak; I laughed like everyone else but upon spotting a couple of young kids in front of me thought again.
    Don’t get me wrong, I’m not one of those idiots that considers nudity to be wrong, nor would I be the sort that would raise a child to consider bare flesh to be a sinful thing, not at all… that said I don’t believe it’s right to give children the impression that naked strange men are anything to laugh at; that just doesn’t really fit well with my world-view either.
    Put simply I don’t think a child should be raised to see nudity as something bad OR something funny, it’s just something that is.
    (and frankly if we were going to get a debate going on bad influences at football matches or sporting events, I think the ocassional streaker might not be the best starting point. Look at it this way; I was standing in the Hill for the Leinster final; there were plenty of terrible (and oft disgraceful) influences around besides the streaker.
    On a more general note, streaking is a moronic pass-time, it really is. And this has nothing to do with the morality of it all… if someone needs to lower themselves to reminding the world that they have genitals just to get/have a laugh they probably need to have a long, hard look at themselves. Sarcasm isn’t the lowest form of humour, nudity is.

    I guess I shouldn’t go ahead with my plan to enter ‘winning streak’ so. Podge and Rodge will be so disappointed.

    I got to say if FF really felt they had to look outside the organisation for a candidate and what they turned up was this dull óinseach then God help them altogether. Alice Glenn would be proud of him.

    streakers have always done it for a bet -admittedly women usually look a hundred times better than men - theyre usually in full flight as is the cop trying to catch up - couldnt possibly be compared to magazine shots of those posing-and its always done in front of thousands and cameras -cant see what the problem is -its always over in seconds………
    are we loosing the plot thinking its a serious issue ?
