Government Announces Committee Chairpersons

His cup overflowing with goodies, Bertie Ahern is nearly at the end of post-election patronage and reward for those who propelled Fianna Fail back into Government Buildings. Some interesting committee appointments (well, for entertainment value anyway) as Jackie Healy Rae will chair the Social and Family Affairs Committee although Beverly Flynn loses out on a post at present. The Green party are almost at full employment now as Paul Gogarty is to Chair Education and Science while Ciaran Cuffe vice-chairs the Joint Committee on Economic and Regulatory Affairs.
FG have Bernard Allen on the Chair of the PAC with Bernard Durkan on the European Affairs Chair and John Perry will chair the EU Scrutiny Committee while Sean Barrett will oversee the Climate Change and Energy Security Committee. Labour’s Willie Penrose will chair the Enterprise, Trade and Employment Committee.
