Blogger Conference: Post-lunch Discussions

Read more about: Blogging, Conference, Irish Election 2007

[The Irish Blogger Conference takes place at the Digital Hub in Dublin on October 7. Cost on the door is E15 and lunch is free. If you are a blogger, politico or just curious, you are more than welcome. As places are limited, you need to register on the main page here.]

After lunch at the Blogger Conference, we move to a far more interactive mode where various topics, as suggested by the audience will be discussed in large groups or small groups depending on audience interest. This format is known as an “unconference“. There will be many opportunities for lots of individuals to have the conversations they want to have, whether with other bloggers, politicos, or MSM journos.

It’s an opportunity for delegates to set their own agenda, to make connections or even host the conversations they want to have. It is an opportunity share your own passion, or, at the very least, gives you the chance to ask questions.

It consists of a number of parallel working sessions around a central theme of Blogging and the Election. The content is not pre-planned but arises naturally. Attendees are free move between the conversations.

Wifi is available throughout the building, so bloggers, podcasters and photographers are welcome to “live blog”, record and photograph/video sessions in progress. Short bulleted summaries will be collected from each of conversations and put online.

There is no plenary. Instead, we hope that bloggers and podcasters will continue to share their thoughts by blogging online. We are looking for outline suggestions for conversations from bloggers, what topics should we make an effort to get opened up? Leave suggestions in the comments as the next week is likely to consist of an ongoing development of the unconference section.
