Unhelpful Dublin Airport post

Not that it’s any use in solving the problem, but has anyone done a cost comparison on the storage costs for the e-voting machines versus the cost of having a backup radar system for Dublin Airport?  In a cinematic note, the existence of a backup radar system was of course a key plot twist in Die Harder.  We’re way behind the times.

I don’t think that was a back up radar system so much as a new system that hadn’t come on line yet.

So did someone at the Dublin Airport Authority get their chance to play former Presidential candidate Fred Thompson and tell planes ‘to hold at the outer marker’?

Good memory Dan, you’re right. I do wonder what exactly the facial expressions and words were when the controllers realized that they couldn’t identify the dots on their screen.

i heard that the guys selling the newspapers on the roads had to start directing traffic(cars that is not planes) it got so chaotic up there. not sure about the veracity of that but it would not surprise me.
