€280 BILLION MOUNTAIN OF NON-GOVERNMENT DEBT.

Read more about: Economy

With Personal Debt likely to be an election issue, it might be interesting to have this figure broken down?

I have no idea what this might be, but someone out there might have details?

In particular, I would ask the following:-

What proportion of the €280 billion is Business?

How much of the debt is Mortgage Lending?

How much has been raised for Motor Car Loans - both bank & HP?

How much is Credit Card Debt?

Of the Mortgage Lending Total, what is value of the Security?

Total value of Irish housing is currently estimated to be over €500bn. Mortgage debt is estimated at slightly over €100bn, leaving about €400bn of net housing wealth.
