WEB ROUNDUP - DAY 17 - KICKASS CUCKOOS

Read more about: Blogging, Web Roundup

My weblife roundup is dominated - nay, subsumed - by the weird and wonderful life of Jim Tallon.
Jim is standing in Wicklow, and here’s his party political broadcast.

Jim has a long career in Irish politics, dating back to 1981, and with a personal high of 163 first preferences in February 1982.
Jim’s political broadcast is not his only venture on youtube. Here, Jim comments on American foreign Policy with his seminal Kickass Cuckoos; followed by the moon landings; British Imperialism; and WTF???. Jim has estalished his own independent state, named Glasnost, and occasionaly appears as Knight Rider - an Aidan Walsh for the General Election.

The Labour Party seem to have been listening to Jim Tallon, for they’ve dropped the imperialist’s foreign tongue and gone for an all-irish political broadcast, while Eric Byrne’s note on the Labour party’s decison to hold off on any private hospitals on public ground has already been covered by Cian today. Labour’s Dominic Hannigan’s blog continues in its chatty, breezy style, while Damien Mulley has a piece on Labour’s communication manifesto.

in England, the reaction to Bertie’s joint houses speech can be gauged by the entries on the British Labour party’s blog pages.

finally, youtube’s Ask A Ninja explains, for our political parties, podcasting.

Good old Jim Tallon, his youtube videos are a laugh, but have you read the articles in the papers about his court appearances and spending time in jail recently.

He really DID spend time in Jail?!! I thought it was just one of his fantasies. oops. hope it wasn’t too serious.

Seriously read the articles I don’t to be the one to point out the obvious of this mans mental state, but it could be questionable. His jail thing wasn’t serious the judge gave him every chance to say sorry and promise not to do it again, but he refused.

I certainly dont want to make fun of the man - I put the links up because he seemed to be having a bit of fun himself. This is not a case of “it’s so bad it’s funny” - rather, here’s someone really enjoying himself. If he’s being exploited, then I’ll take it down.

I have a feeling the person making the videos might be exploiting him but i wouldn’t worry the man put himself forward for election so he has to be analysed like all the other candidates.
