Rounding up the blogs - Day 24….and now the end is near

So did the €70million clanger last night which was hurriedly changed to 40million cause Bertie to run away from the readers of the Irish Times in an online webchat today?? Harry McGee has more about FF’s Jim O’Keeffe Moment.
Cllr Michael O’Brien (Labour - Carlow Kilkenny) notes that some people have been reading his blog and takes the opportunity to thank his campaign team for their efforts and says that Labour is in the dog fight for the last seat in the constituency. Someone who supports the Labour Party has been busy with Google Maps - they have their finger on the pulse of disability issues that’s for sure, an issue very much neglected in this election.
Dominic Hannigan (Labour- Meath East) is the Dáil Dude of the Campaign according to Paddy Power. There is a bet involved and money going to a local autism school according to Dominic’s blogpost today. John Gormley (Green- Dublin South East) is nervous, finally blogs once in the campaign and spins against the spinners, yes all eyes will be on DSE on Friday to see what pole is being climbed or descended. Eric Byrne (Labour - Dublin South Central) has had to take down his blog post about the builders and the donation but I’m sure there is more to that story that we might hear after the election.
Ice Cream Ireland have got Enda Kenny and Pat Rabbitte- I think that’s a full sweep of the big three - Kieran has his brother Sean running round Dublin catching leaders on the canvass and thrusting cones into their hands! Pat says that if he is elected that we’ll all have access to Murphy’s Icecream. Yum! He says that Michael McDowell is the last one to catch…good luck! Update: Sean was sent to the Tanaiste’s constituency office - it’s vanilla with the cherry on top. Brilliant series of posts gents!
Chris writes about Labour’s out reach to Polish residents who can’t vote this time but they’re thinking of them anyway. Have a look at the Flickr group on Irish Election posters, fancy a pizza? Gerry might deliver!
From non political party bloggers, there are ponderances on voting intentions and more reports of canvassing interactions. Three Monkeys Online writes about the lack of personality, downsides of democracy and fears of Martin Cullen (remember him - Minister type, Waterford) bringing in electronic voting in 2011. More tourists wondering where they have landed, and impressed by Joe Costello’s posters. Mike’s Myspace rant is a no holds barred run through the parties.
Kevin from Disillusioned Lefty is doing something I hope he changes his mind about! Declan hears the expert phoners in at work on the Gerry Ryan Show. Join in with Shane Hegarty’s Enda Kenny Drinking Game! SK is disappointed by his trip to the Irish Office and the resulting views of an election campaign where voters don’t really meet politicians. He suggests garden sheds or something at points where voters gather. The Waiting Game is told to enjoy the prosperity by the FF canvassers when she says she’s not voting for them.
Ok this is my last round up before the election. I don’t want them to end. I have so enjoyed reading blogs from politicians and others, getting links sent to me, trawling technorati, watching youtubes, seeing the mainstream media nick stuff off the net and pass it off as their own, shouting and laughing at the laptop and coping without stable broadband for 12 days of it. Please note though that the moratorium does not apply online so there will be plenty more tomorrow and I’m sure Cian will be bringing you the brightest and best of it.
