Since the Nixon and Kennedy series of Great Debates, politics and television have become a critical medium for campaigns. Nixon was twenty pounds underweight with a sickly pallor, dressed in a ill-fitting shirt, and he refused makeup to improve his color and lighten his perpetual five o’clock shadow for the television debate, needless to say, Kennedy won that debate by a large margin, so nearly 47 years on, how do the major Irish political parties fair in the party political broadcasts stakes. Watch and judge for your self. UPDATED for Labour’s broadcasts.

First up was Fine Gael’s Enda Kenny and his contract.

This was followed by Fianna Fail’s party political broadcast.
