Kick a man whilst he’s down, eh Simon?

    He was no joker.

Amazing. The world, or at least Ireland, is turning gray.

Not very nice comment- I wouldn’t support Higgins but the dail will be a poorer place without him.

Although I didn’t agree with lots of what he said, Mr Higgins will be a real loss to the Oireachtas an original and brave voice he articulated a different analysis and refused to enter the politics of spin and personality. I wish him the best of luck in his career.

Joe Higgins possessed a natural gift for portraying all things Socialist. He is a great politician and a great public representative. I fully believe he will be back and lead a Socialist Party surge to finally make this country just and equal.

It is interesting how people like Joe, a man who accepts the average industrial wage and who has stood for what he believes in against tremendous pressure, is seen as a joker. All the while mainstream polticians like Bertie can accept bribes and houses but still be considered serious. Perhaps by joker you really mean someone who doesn’t accept the status quo? Its a sad lose that Joe is gone, whilst the real jokers(those that think infinite economic growth in a finite world) are on the gain.

I am a foreigner and I had difficulties with recognition of my qualification. I wrote letters
to many polititians, but Joe Higgins was first who genuanly took part in my problem, knocked on
all doors for me, the complete stranger, and guess what he helped. Eventually I was allowed to
sit examination, by the way succeded, and now my whole life is changed forever, because of him.
I think he is a great person, who really cares about people and everybody will lose without him. He really stood for our rights, now let’s get exploited for lower wages, that what he was
    against of.

Joe Higgins is a rare man in Irish politics in that he is HONEST. The Irish political scene is rotten to the core and the Irish people, as a whole, are so screwed-up they think all this corruption is normal behaviour for human beings. Its not.

I hope Joe Higgins returns to the Dail, meantime I wish him the very best of luck.
