FG Confident of Two Seats in Meath East

“The party’s TD Shane McEntee is expected to be selected to contest the general election with two others bidding for the second nomination, Co Meath VEC parent representative Ellen Cogavin, Dunboyne, and business woman Regina Doherty, Ratoath, Meath East FG constituency treasurer.

\Candidates will be contesting for three Dail seats in Meath East at the next general election.

\The party had a relatively poor local elections in the Dunshaughlin electoral area in 2004 when Independent Joe Bonner, Ashbourne, upset the expected outcome by taking a county council seat. FG’s Dunboyne Colr Mary Bergin had stepped down and the party did not retain her seat.

New Meath East FG chairperson Kieran Coleman commented this week that FG was “more than confident” that the party would obtain two seats in Meath East. “
