I’ve always seen a level of irony in gay people trying to achieve equality by highlighting the existence of a “gay community” but I think this site is above such and makes sense.
It makes sense that a group of people with similar beliefs/thoughts/feelings/whatevers would work together to form a lobby group, even though many of their main concerns (the civil unions bill for example) are not gay-only issues.
I just hope this doesn’t base itself too heavily around an “equality for gay people” stance - I much prefer a simple “equality” point of view myself
