Say Yes to Thursday!
Read more about: Vote Saturday
I’ve had enough. What is with all of these left wing zealots ranting on about how Thursday voting is such a shockingly awful idea. I mean, really, didn’t they listen to the Taoiseach? Here is what the wise Northsider said:
I listened to the argument the last time. And it didn’t work. Friday did not work. I was all over The City on the Friday. What people do now is get out of the city on a Friday afternoon. You might say that that would help in the country, but the polls in The City were very, very low after 6 o’clock…
With the clean-up of the register those people are now registered in Dublin. They are registered here.”
Seriously, if people would just stop to listen to the man who built this Celtic Tiger, they would realise that everything he said makes sense.
I mean, I love to get out of The City for long weekends. There just aren’t enough bank holidays so, like the Taoiseach says, I leave work early on a Friday and take a drive down to my holiday home in Conemara. If they had the vote on a weekend, my democratic rights would be violated. The only option would be to register in Conemara, and they don’t even have any P.D. candidates. Really, who doesn’t leave The City on a Friday for a quick break in a spa or holiday home? Bertie is a man of the people. He knows our situation.
Seriously, why are you living in The City anyway if you aren’t going to vote there. Why don’t you just dash back to Limerick, Cork or whatever part of rural Ireland you’re from. And students? Well don’t even get me started on that shower of wasters. They’d probably only vote for Labour anyway. Either register in The City, or go back home. If the city isn’t good enough for you during the summer, then what are you doing here during the year? And it isn’t my problem that the election will take place in the middle of their exams. Personally, I’d like to see the voting age raised to 25 anyway.
Now I’m certain that there are loads of you who feel the same as me so please, go sign my Pro-Thursday Voting Petition here. If the moaners could get 500 votes in ten days, then we’ll get 1000 in a couple of days. Right?

not only should voting take place in Thursday, the count should be held in Fagan’s, with free Bass for the winners. Oh, and a wine spritzer for the ladies. Crisps? anyone?
