What is the deal with sandwich fillings in the forthcoming election. Michael McDowell said they were the meat in the sandwich. Now Labour are claiming that the PD’s are Jam.

What is next headline

“Greens education policies are as useful as lettuce”.

“Fianna Fail will devoid up councils like a Sliced pan”

“Sinn Fein as reliable as a 3 day old breakfast roll”

“Fine Gael European policies will make us eat French Onions instead of scallions.

“Labour in government as nice a proposition as a cabbage sandwich”.

    Showing my age here, but there are old jokes playing on the traditional Catholic fasting regimen in Lent — “one full meal and two collations” so there is occasionally a sequence of governments that lends itself to the description “one fianna fail and two coalitions” — but I’m not sure who’d get the joke anymore.
