Mary Hanafin still anti-disability

Read more about: Education

Mary Hanafin the person who single-handily has made me not care to vote Fianna Fail. Is again continuing her dislike of anything to do with children with disabilities. Firstly the department attitude to dyslexic students and the stigmatising of them. Where they mark a persons leaving cert if they got a special dispensation for being dyslexic in the exam. While of course people who do the exam in Irish and get extra marks simply for doing that get no mark on their leaving cert. I guess Irish speaking is better for Mary Hanafin’s ideological egos then people with disabilities. So really should we be surprised that it requires someone to go to the High Court to get proper education for an autistic boy? The case has been lost presumingly as the state is constitutional safe. But does not make them right. I don’t think so. Shame on you
