Irony?

Read more about: Cork South Central, Fianna Fail

From Fianna Fail

On the same day that a survey showed Irish people are the EU’s top binge drinkers, Tesco is running a buy-12-cans get-12-cans-free promotion in the national media for St Patrick’s weekend, according to Fianna Fáil Dáil candidate Cllr Michael McGrath. The supermarket’s promotion of a culture of excess on the same day that an EU-wide survey attests to our national binge-drink profile is irresponsible and socially destructive.

This coming from a guy who runs a clinic every Monday (except bank holidays) at Cogan’s Bar, Main Street, Carrigaline. Anyone see the irony?

Between himself and Micheál Martin, the Fianna Fail boys down in Cork South Central seem intent and running a nanny state! Anyway, thanks for the inspiration.

What irony? A sociable few drinks in a pub is not a bad thing and is not the same as promoting alcoholism. So what if he has a clinic in a bar?

If anything, the most drunk people on an average night probably got drunk at home, not in the pub.

PS: I don’t even drink, so maybe it’s ironic that I’m making this comment?
