FF Down 2, Party with a Narrative +2, Lab/FG Static
Read more about: Coalition, Fianna Fail, Fine Gael, Green Party, Labour Party, Polls, Progressive Democrats, Sinn Féin
From the Business Post’s tracking poll;
Fianna Fail: 33% (-2)
Fine Gael: 25% (-)
Labour: 11% (-1)
Sinn Fein: 11% (+1)
Green: 7% (+2)
PD: 4% (-)
Other: 9% (-)
What do we think, are the Greens likely to continue to show progress and strength on the back of the room being made available by Labour?
Is Fianna Fail simply waiting for the ’sugar rush’ of SSIA money to flood through the kiddies veins?
Will Fine Gael and Labour ever show some momentum if they keep focussing on issues like management? Is their policy difference that big an achilles heel?
Are the PDs fighting for their political lives this time around? With little local talent to speak of is a parliamentary wipeout going to kill them off?
My own thoughts later, for now comment away.
Irish Election are pleased to announce our collection of Irish
I am not sure about the PD supported is always low for them as they are only in a few places. But where they are they tend to be strong. Were they not at 4 at the last election.?
You are right they do hover at 4% but the problem with the 4% is that you are reliant on a concentration in areas of interest for votes. 4% is easily attacked in the leafy burbs of Dubliln and FG are likely to mount a serious campaign against Tom Parlon to get the old Farming seat back. indeed i think i read that success in that endeavour could be forthcoming.
AT 4% and little local cllr infrastrucutre the party is suceptible to similar share of the vote and little or no return outside of some big guns.
This fate is entirely tied to the fate of the government and perception of it, as FFs performance may be a better analysis of the Govt satisfaction one coule begin to worry for the PDs
Also a strong FG vote will generally harm the PD concentration of votes further.
While not guaranteed the possibility is quite strong for a very bad PD showing.
