Well when you put a blond on the ticket….

I wonder did they have to pay extra to have that advertisement put on the same page as the articles about fine gael candidates.

In fairness the ads are mixed in with the fluff pieces all over the place. Fine Gael’s “Whatever happened to politicians taking responsibility for their mistakes?” is next to Peter Power’s article.

And just in case you’re naive enough to take any of it seriously the whole supplement has ADVERTISING PROMOTION written on top of every page. A bit like those wedding promotion supplements you see every now and then.

Doesn’t it sound like they’re having a go at the PDs with the line “beware parties now claiming they gave increases in recent budget”? After all they are only ones in the news claiming anything from the budget. Seems like FF have decided that Tim is toast and they want the seat. And I’ll be honest I would rate their chances much more now that Scully is not on the FG ticket.

Well FF already have 2 seats so they aren’t going to win a third. Also I met Noreen Ryan today canvassing my area and the first thing that struck me is that she is a good 15 years older than the photos on the leaflets and posters. She had makeup plastered on to try and hide it but that just made her look worse. I was concerned about voting for a 22 year old but I’m now more concerned about voting for a 37 year old pretending to be 22.

I think Noreen is older than 37, and don’t tell me she was canvassing when the match was on? FF could win a 3rd if O’Malley was to completely implode. The absence of Scully from the FG ticket in the city is likely to mean that O’Dea will have an enormous surplus.

Nobody here seems to be writing off Peter Power. He has been a lame duck since he got elected and while he has the advantage of being a sitting candidate he doesn’t seem to be utilising it while Noreen seems to be dedicated to winning the seat. Eddie Wade lost his seat to Power last time round and Power doesn’t seem to be pulling out all the stops to hold such a vulnerable seat.
