Dick Roche TD no longer holds the monopoly on fudging issues. Fine Gael seem to be wanting a piece of that fudging goodness, by doing a bit of fudge of their own.
The issue they are fudging though is whether or not to add Diarmiuid Scully to the Limerick East election ticket.
The top brass at Fine Gael met at the Kilmurry Lodge this week to decide on whether or not to add the former Limerick Mayor to the ticket, but instead decided to delay the decision until next week, it is reported in Wednesday’s Limerick Leader.
While it was initially believed that Scully’s selection as Fine Gael’s third Limerick East candidate was a formality, there are several other party hopefuls bidding to take the possible third nomination. Those include, Kevin Keily, Mary Harty, and Mary Jackman.
It don’t look too positive for Cllr Scully. In a poll carried out by the party two weeks ago showed that Michael Noonan scored 15 percent while Kieran O’Donnell scored just 9 percent. Cllr O’Donnell would require at least 10 percent in order to stand a chance of winning a seat.
In the meantime, we here in Limerick sit around and wait while some Dublin yups can’t make up their minds.

Scully has the potential to become the dominant Fine Gael public representative in Limerick after Noonan retires. Therefore it logically follows that Noonan must destroy him.
