Labour Launching New Web Campaign Makeachange.ie

Read more about: Irish Election, Labour Party

Labour are making an announcement this lunchtime. It is not (as expected) about taxation but instead it is the launch of their new campaign (but, are you happy?) and website www.makeachange.ie. The website is built around a video speech from Pat Rabbitte (not a million miles from his conference speech) and the five commitments to change.

Take a look and let us know what you think of it.

Update (Flickr, Youtube info and a caption competition below the fold):

Pictures from the launch are available on the Party’s Flickr feed.

There is also a youtube version of Pat Rabbitte’s video from the makeachange.ie website.

With that I feel a caption competition coming on:

I like it. Pity the video can’t be shared. Pat seems a lot more natural in this. Like he is having a conversation with you personally, not standing at a podium lecturing. Great to see Labour using the net even more.

I agree, between saturday and this video there is a more comfortable persona being presented. What is great is that this use of the net is still a huge jump from previous efforts. At least they are taking the plunge/risk which deserves some praise and possibly even some reward.

Yeah, pity they didn’t make it easily shareable. But you can still hack around and get the right pieces of code.

URL for the video - http://www.makeachange.ie/media/5commit.swf

That didn’t work - I was trying to display the HTML in the page.
But you can find it on the page with the video by hitting view source on the browser.
