A second Irish referendum? Eurocrats have a better idea
Dan Hannan at the Telegraph reckons the plan in Brussles is not for a second referendum but instead to parachute in sections of the Lisbon Treaty via legislation.

Did the Commission Lie About its Own Poll?
Openeurope asks whether the commission engaged in a little bit of number fudging in the run up to its poll being released. If it didn’t I am thinking that political leaking took place from elsewhere in the system.

Yes Cowen botched the reference. He meant St Helena, where the Corsican was decisively ensconced for the remainder of his days.
I really wonder about the ordinary cumann members in St Luke’s — do they ponder that getting a 30K loan to turn into 10-fold capital gain must be nice work if you can get it? Especially if you don’t actually have to repay the loan till someone comes asking about it?
I think Enda is trying to pin the Bertie tail on the Cowen donkey so that when Bertie goes senior minsters can’t act like the waft of dodgy dealings has left the FF room after him.
I think it’s time Enda accepted the democratic decision of the people and stopped trying to force a Coup d’etat by a thousand cuts.
