Enda Kenny has proposed a sound concept. After all, they have nothing to hide, have they?
But, why not extend accountability by our elected representatives, and, perhaps all candidates standing in the upcomiing elections.
A polygraph test.
” Have you, at any time in your political career, accepted cash; loans; or other benefits-in-kind, in return for favours; planning permissions; relief from prosecution; appointments to State & Semi-State bodies; quangos etc…?”
“Are you, now, or at any time in the past, a member of an Illegal Organisation, such as the IRA?”
The test would clarify a lot of questions that have been left unanswered by politicians, of all hues.
After all, they invariably say they have nothing to hide.
And we believe them, don’t we?
But…
We would just like to be certain.
Not too much to ask of people in whom we are placing the future of our country?
