Business Post/Red C Poll

Read more about: Government, Irish Election, Media, Polls

Sunday’s Business Post has the monthly poll in it. Results:

Fianna Fail: 38% (-4)

Fine Gael: 22% (+1)

Labour: 14% (+2)

Greens: 8% (+1)

Sinn Fein: 7% -

PDs: 4% (+1)

Independent/Other: 7%

While there are a multitude of trends emerging from these polls, the overarching impression seems to be the realtion between press exposure (of almost any kind) and party support.  The more your in the more you win.

Shows that the PDs are not in meltdown contrary to wot TNS-MRBI’s poll would indicate.

i agree brian but i think of all parties the PDs fate is unlikely to be really clear until election night. national polls will never capture how the pds are doing in the 4-10 (depends on your outlook) constituencies they are challenging in. The exercise the Tribune carried out recently on a constituency by constituency basis is more likely to tell us how the PDs will fare.

Still looks like FF-Lab is going to be the result. He can disagree all he likes but when the votes are cast Pat will “respect the will of the people” and join with the one combination that has the most seats & votes. FF & Lab.

If he digs in and forces it to another election then that will only swing more votes to Fianna Fail at the expense of the rainbow as they are willing to form a government with anyone bar Sinn Fein-IRA.
