Enda loves immigrants.

Article 44.2.2 of the constitution says “The State guarantees not to endow any religion.” This means that the state basically has no religion. However Enda Kenny disagrees. To him Ireland is a “Celtic and Christian country “. But before any ones brands Enda as Anti-immigrant he is not in fact he is the total opposite. Firstly I find it very insulting that he considers this country as being christian when many people who’s lineage stretches back as long as his don’t believe in god, or are some none Christian religion. Are these people less Irish Enda? I guess he think atheists don’t vote Fine Gael. (Another group to add to the list ehh)
Point 2.) The Celts were a race of people who were from Central Europe mainly Hungary the very people who are immigrating most to Ireland. And in a 2004 Study in Trinity it was found that Celt DNA is not very prevalent in Ireland’s genetic make-up. (We are mainly Spanish with a bit of North African, British and Scandinavian thrown in). So basically Enda is saying that Ireland is country for people from Central Europe and us the pesky Spanish descendent should conform.
Irish Election are pleased to announce our collection of Irish
You shouldn’t get so upset. You expect too much from Enda. He’s not capable of thinking beyond the soundbite.
We’re not mainly Spanish, there are genetic links and markers with North western Spain yes.
We’re genetically mainly pre-Celtic Irish (with the Anglo-norman almost as significant as the Celtic genetically), who may have got here on the land bridges. I believe that Enda was referring to the cultural aspects of being Celtic and Christian in the context of immigration. The Celts were a migratory people and we are a culturally a Christian country for good or ill. A Christianity (not exclusively of course) has a tradion of welcoming people outside the initial fold, it was actually one of the reasons Christianity flourished as prior to that most religons were tribal/(what we might now call nationally) based and if you were a member then you couldn’t join.
If you got to article 42, you think you would have read the prologue as well.
preamble
The State through the Constitution may not directly endow a religion, but it does do it indirectly…
Ref:
Preamble:
In the Name of the Most Holy Trinity, from Whom is all authority and to Whom, as our final end, all actions both of men and States must be referred,
We, the people of Éire,
Humbly acknowledging all our obligations to our Divine Lord, Jesus Christ, Who sustained our fathers through centuries of trial,….
I have indeed. http://www.irishelection.com/01/sinn-fein-secularist/
and correct me if I am wrong but the preamble has no legal basis. No law comes from the preample. Thus it means nothing about Ireland’s identity. It is just a nice old saying. It could equally say
“If you like Pina Coladas, and getting caught in the rain.
If you’re not into yoga, if you have half-a-brain.
If you like making love at midnight, in the dunes of the cape.
I’m the lady you’ve looked for, write to me, and escape.”
I didn’t think about my lady, I know that sounds kind of mean.
But me and my old lady, had fallen into the same old dull routine.
So I wrote to the paper, took out a personal ad.
And though I’m nobody’s poet, I thought it wasn’t half-bad.
“Yes, I like Pina Coladas, and getting caught in the rain.
I’m not much into health food, I am into champagne.
I’ve got to meet you by tomorrow noon, and cut through all this red tape.
At a bar called O’Malley’s, where we’ll plan our escape.”
correct me if I am wrong but the preamble has no legal basis.
your wrong.
Ah for Christ’s sake lads, there is no Celtic race. Never was. Hell, race doesn’t exist except within our minds, so arguing whether or not we’re pre-celtic, celtic, norman or viking is a little pointless. The genetic difference between Biddy and Bernie is greater than the genetic difference between the average Mick and the average Nigerian.
To be honest, I don’t like the fact that Enda has played this card, but that doesn’t mean I don’t think that he is, mostly, right. We come from what we could call a Celtic and Christian culture. And that has certain implications. Nobody is saying you have to be a Celt, or a Christian to live here, but you have to be willing to respect and tolerate the beliefs associated with our culture. We’ve had our share of colonists thank you very much.
Care to point out what law it dictates then Observer. I.E name a law that could be challenged in the supreme court based solely on the contents of the preamble?
Realistically lads this is all about using every weapon in our armoury to remove the Cylon collaborator Bertie Baltar from office, replacing him with Kenny Roslin.
Are you saying that Kenny Roslin was written about in the Book of Pythia?
Is he the chosen one, is Rabbitee actually one of the final 5?
Enda Kenny is to be applauded for finally listening to what rural Ireland have been warning about for decades. Immigration overkill in Ireland has got to stop. I was shocked that he referred to Ireland as a ‘Christian and celtic’ society. That took balls, but it won’t go down well with Labour’s far-left wing.
IMO, it has never been more important to stress Ireland’s Christian heritage and culture. Christian values are the underpinning of western civilization. Most people here still go to church and the vast majority identify themselves as Christian. Church attendance may have wanned off, but it has always been in flucation throughout history, and sometime in the future Ireland’s children will again flock to the Divine Faith that has served us so well in the past.
While Christianity is being attacked by liberals, the Islamic population here has DOUBLED within the last FOUR years, from 20,000 in 2002 census to over 40,000 now. Already many prominent Muslims have called for the bombing of Irish airports. According to Ireland’s chief imam fundamentalism is rife among Irish Muslims. If we don’t halt this, we will go down the same road as Netherlandistan in Al-Eurabia, where the major cities will soon have majority islamic populations. This is already starting to happen in Dublistan, where the area between Dublin’s canals will no longer be Irish by 2020. We need to re-assert our culture and national pride, and we need to ask for God’s blessing and protection for our country. God bless Enda Kenny for this, and God bless Ireland.
“Divine Faith that has served us so well in the past.”
How and when?
“re-assert our culture”
Thats right, we need a population of armed christians to fend off the demon muslim hordes here to rape and pillage our fine cultural heritage.
Atheism is no match for Islam. Liberals love Muslims, not for their religion, but because they see them as a repressed minority group. Much like the liberals/communists viewed Jews in tsarist Russia. Remember when France banned the veil in public schools? The vehemently anti-Catholic Irish Socialist Party excoriated the French government. They would rather stick up for a pagan Arabian cult instead of the glorious Christian faith, they so oft batter as ‘reactionary’. This is quite strange given the fact that the SP’s support for anti-life policies and the sodomite agenda put it directly at odds with Islamic social teaching. If they think Christians treat so-called “gays” badly, just wait ’till they see how they’re treated in the Al-Eurabian dhimmocracy. God save us from Islam.
Johnny, um, you’re name is rather unfortunate. Who on earth do you think Ireland’s chief Imam is?
