It would now appear that the only solution to take this unfortunate process forward is to create some alliance of the SDLP and the UUP and others.
IRA/Sinn Fein & the DUP will forever remain deadlocked.
Which suits both these parties - for completely different reasons.
The DUP can continue to trumpet “No Surrender”
IRA/Sinn Fein will not have to bow the knee to Law & Order (PSNI)& can continue on their criminal rampages, hiding behind those released under the GFA - and the “on the runs” - they so dearly want to bring back into their criminal gangs.
In the meantime they still have their stockpiles of AK 47s in spite of what Adams says (quote) “the guns are silent”.

As regards David Ervine, his voice of wisdom gained from the mistakes of
failed politics, will be missed.

Direct = An active Unit of the IRA
Action = Eliminate any “foreigner” threatening their monopoly.
“Foreigner” = Non-member of the IRA.
Drugs = Major source of IRA/Sinn Fein Income - to fund election of IRA/Sinn Fein candidates viz. Mary-Lou McDonald MEP; Martin Ferris etc…
David Ervine had no illusions about Gerry Adams and his associates; who they were & what they stood for.
He knew they were - and are - the leaders of the IRA and that their Agenda is to take over the country - all 32 counties - & install a Cuba-style racist dictatorship.
Something Bertie & Dermot might reflect upon.
In such an event, they will be history - if not “Brown Bread”.
