Celebrity candidates continue.

The celebrities are coming thick and strong in the election race. We have had all-star GAA stars and famous children’s right activists. Now the PD’s have kicked the celebrity up a notch. They have managed to recruit a king among celebrities. They have recruited the guy from the Sensodyne toothpaste ad.
Is the slogan not Sensodyne and forget it?Keith Redmond is the name of the guy by the way. And also the headline of the press release. “TV dentist to fill Dáil seat for PDs” Get it dentist, cavities, fillings. Get it, Get it …. Hilarious.

Ohmigod!
I went to him about 10 years ago when he was just starting out in dentistry. He butchered me! I was supposed to be sedated, completely “under” but he didn’t give me enough of the drug and I came around while he was swinging out of my tooth! The reason he didnt give me enough of the drug was because he didn’t have a recovery room for me to come round in and didn’t want me dribbling in his waiting room.
He’ll fit right in with the PD’s, me thinks!
According to yesterday’s Tribune, his selection also means that the Sensodyne ad will have to be pulled (unintentional pun) from television in the run-up to the election. Guess Sensodyne’ll be pleased about that…
I asked myself that this morning as i was on their website. Sensodyne need a new ad anyway. What an odd candidate though.
Clara, a dentist isn’t allowed to put you “completely under”, i.e. under general anaesthetic - you need an anaesthetist for that. Perhaps you’ve embellished your story somewhat?

Actually no, I have not “embellished my story somewhat”. It is sedation and some dentists (not many) use it. It’s a sort of diazapam/valium they use which is fast acting and you comeout of it relatively fast too. Unfortunately this guy didnt use enough so I came around while he was in the middle of the proceedure…. forgot to say that I also developed an infection after the extraction so perhaps Keith feels he might be a better politician than a dentist.

Thanks for the link, but it seems to back up my contention that a dentist shouldn’t be putting you “completely under”. From their definition of “sedation”:
Of course, we’re veering off-topic somewhat.
