Bertie can we be friends.

Read more about: Bertiegate, Fianna Fail

Possibly the best known of Bertie’s lenders Paddy the Plaster has appeared again in the news. According to the Sunday Independent.

Paddy Reilly - or ‘Paddy the Plasterer’ as Mr Ahern affectionately called him - emerged briefly from the depths of Drumcondra as one of the so-called 12 Apostles.

(Where did they get that phrase I wonder. )

This time, it was Mr Ahern who did Paddy a favour, securing him a much-sought-after ticket for the magical winter solstice at the 5,200-year-old Newgrange passage tomb in Co Meath.

Visiting Newgrange on the winter solstice is one of these things that few of us will ever get to see. And only the great and the good get to see. That of course is if you are not a mate of Bertie’s. I know the giving of a mate a leg up is all part of Irish culture but this is the Taoiseach we are talking about. In the interview he said that they got jobs because they are his friends looks like they get other favours for being friends. Bertie can we be mates?

Oh my God. This is terrible. A mate gets a ticket for another mate. Can there be a more horrific crime.

In fact I gave my friend a ticket to Munster Leicester at the weekend. Should I consult a solicitor? Will I be going to jail? Will there be a tribunal into Bertie’s action and will I be called up also.
